|
Dragon's Den is a Johto cave located in the back of Blackthorn City's Gym. The cave has two areas accessible at the beginning, and two deeper areas, Dragons Den B1F and Dragons Shrine, which need to be unlocked. Their unlock conditions are not simple at all, and will require the player to work hard for them.
Regardless of those two unlockable areas, the Dragons Den is known for being one of the best locations to level up. Not needing anything to unlock, it will be the leveling choice for a good while after reaching Blackthorn City for the first time.
Notable miscellanies
Dragonite
At the very entrance of Dragons Den B1F, a Dragonite will be blocking the path, preventing you from reaching anything beyond, including the floor's wild Pokémon. It will not move until the player brings the Dragon Medallion, which can be obtained in Blackthorn City's Dragon Club. The Medallion requires you to pay 200,000 and to have at least 240 Caught data in Pokédex.
With the Dragon Medallion in hand, the Dragonite will fight the player. The Dragonite is level 120, and as such adequate preparation is necessary to defeat it. Furthermore, it will have a 24 hours cooldown in case of defeat.
|
Lance (boss)
Lance is located in the middle north of Dragons Den B1F. As such, it will be necessary to bring a Dragon Medallion and defeat the Dragonite blocking the way in order to reach him. Lance will battle the player on the condition that he or she has no Pokémon under level 100, meaning that it is possible to challenge him with a team of only 5 level 100 Pokémons and an empty slot. Once defeated, he will no longer be rechallengeable and the Cerulean Cave will be unlocked. See the main article for more information.

Move Tutors
Dragon Tail Tutor
A Move Tutor for the move Dragon Tail can be found east of Dragons Den, which will require to Surf counter-clockwise around the border of the area in order to reach him. He will teach the move to any compatible Pokémon for the price of 15,000.
Draco Meteor Tutor
Lance (Dragons Shrine) (read below for more information) will also act as a Move Tutor for the move Draco Meteor. He will teach the move to any compatible Pokémon for the price of 15,000.
Dragons Shrine
Another locked area in Dragons Den is the Dragons Shrine. Its entrance is located southeast of Dragons Den, which will require you to Surf counter-clockwise around the border of the area in order to reach it. A police officer will be blocking the entrance until the following two conditions have been fulfilled:
- 150 or more Evolved data in Pokédex.
- At least one Dragon type Pokémon in your team.
Lance (Dragons Shrine) (boss)
After defeating Lance in Dragons Den B1F, he will move to Dragon's Shrine, with a stronger team than before. He will fight the player on the condition that he or she is the Champion of Johto Elite Four. This time, he will also be rechallengeable after 12 days. See the main article for more information.
