Abandoned Pokémon

An abandoned Pokéball as it appears on the overworld.

Abandoned Pokémon are ownerless, adoptable Pokémon found in stray capsules. They were once captured and domesticated but ultimately dispossessed by the trainer.

The capsular devices used to encapsulate them are referred to as abandoned Pokéballs.

Mechanical overview

Akin to ground-lootable item capsules, abandoned Pokéballs can be found interspersed throughout the environs of Pokémon Revolution Online, differentiably identifiable with their blue coloration. Their locations are preset by Content Scripters and immutably placed for all players.

Once they are claimed, the capsular Pokémon will be adopted under your possession and OT registry; thereafter, the originative abandoned Pokéball will despawn and never respawn, as all of them are limited to one-off claimabilities.

Most abandoned Pokéballs are monospecies in their contents, but there are a considerable many that contain multiple eventualities; if so, the Pokémon you loot will either be randomized, typically rationing out the odds among each adoptee, or conditional in its determinacy. Whichever adoptee you claim will be the only one you can obtain from that Pokéball.

Most abandoned Pokéballs variably have a chance for generable shiny Pokémon; while those rates are mutable and have not been vouchsafed, they are all confirmed to have an appreciably more probable chance than wildly encountered shinies.
