Psychic Terrain is a Psychic type, Status move.
Function
In Battle
Psychic Terrain creates a Psychic Terrain that replaces any existing terrain effects and changes the battlefield's appearance. The terrain lasts for five turns unless extended. While active, it affects all grounded Pokémon that are not in the middle of a semi-invulnerable move (e.g. Fly or Dig).
Its effects are as follows:
- Increases the power of Psychic-type moves used by affected Pokémon by 30%.
- Prevents opponents from using increased-priority moves against affected Pokémon (including those boosted by Prankster, Gale Wings, or Triage).
- Nature Power becomes a Psychic-type move.
- Secret Power may lower the target’s Speed by one stage.
- Increases the power of Expanding Force by 1.5×; in Double Battles, it also targets both opponents.
- Changes Terrain Pulse to Psychic-type and doubles its base power.
- Changes a Pokémon’s type to Psychic if it has the Ability Mimicry.
Psychic Terrain is automatically set when a Pokémon with Psychic Surge enters the field, or when Genesis Supernova or Max Mindstorm is used.
If a Pokémon is holding a Psychic Seed when Psychic Terrain is active, the item is consumed and the Pokémon's Special Defense rises by one stage. If a Terrain Extender is held, the terrain will last for eight turns instead of five.
Psychic Terrain is removed when Defog, G-Max Wind Rage, Steel Roller, or Ice Spinner is used.
If powered up with Psychium Z, Z-Psychic Terrain raises the user's Special Attack by one stage.
