Route 11 is a Kanto route that is interlocated between Vermilion City and Route 12, serving as a junctional route therebetween.
This route becomes immediately accessible from the contiguous Vermilion City upon obtaining the Thunder Badge from Vermilion Gym; before then, you will be occluded by an NPC who enjoins you to challenge Lt. Surge before proceedingly advancing onto this route.
The eastern gatehouse leads to Route 12, which paves the fastest-travellable path from Vermilion City to Fuchsia City; however, until the roadblocking Snorlax on the bridge is woken up, you will not be able to pass through the trisection to other contiguous areas. The only pathway to reach Lavender Town for the first time—and Celadon City at its ultimacy, for the fourth badge in Kanto's successional line of gyms—is from the Rock Tunnel, which is reachable on Route 10 (eastwards of Cerulean City).
Notable miscellanies
Diglett's Cave
- Main article: Diglett's Cave
Diglett's Cave can be found north of the brook in the southwesternmost segment of the route.
It interconnects Route 2 to this route, thereby providing an on-foot shortcut between the two areas. Once the digway outlets of the cave on both routes have been interacted with, you can travel through the burrows for an even more expeditious shortcut, contingent that you have a Dig-toting Pokémon on-hand with 150-plus happiness points.
Abra porter
Contingent that you are a Kanto champion and that you have a Pokémon with the Teleport technique on-hand, the Magnemite wending nearby Diglett's Cave will teleport you across the route for a fee of
750.
