Route 110 is a Hoenn route linking Slateport City to Mauville City. It is also connected on its west to Route 103, serving as a shortcut to Oldale Town.
The route can be crossed in two different ways. The bottom path is considered the main path, although there is grass all along it. The top path is the Cycling Road, which requires to have purchased a Bike in order to cross. However, the lack of grass makes it much faster to cross.
The route has two main points of interest. The first one is the Trick House, which makes a return from the original games. With its puzzles, it becomes one of the most unique attractions of the game. The other interesting part is New Mauville, a side area that is necessary to visit in order to unlock Hoenn's inter-Pokecenter travel.
Notable miscellanies
May
In the middle of the grass route, May will be blocking the way. However, it is possible to skip her by going up the cycling road instead. She will fight the player with a team that varies depending on the player's starter choice: she will have one pokemon of each starter type, with one of them being the second evolution of the starter strong against the player's starter, and the two other being either Wailmer, Breloom or Slugma. She shouldn't be underestimated, as her Pokémons are estimated to be level 33.
Cycling Road
The Cycling Road is one of the two ways to cross the route. It can only be accessed if a Bike was purchased, although it is not necessary to use it. As there are no wild encouters on the cycling road, it is the path to take when in a hurry.
Trick House
- Main article: Trick House
Near the entrance to Route 103 is the Trick House, a well known building back from the original games. In it, it will be necessary to find the Trick Master somewhere in the first room, go through his puzzle room, then answer his quiz. This can be done multiple times with varied rewards.
New Mauville
- Main article: New Mauville
In the north-eastmost corner of the route's waters is located New Mauville, an area full of electric Pokémons. This area is optional for the story, however it is very important as it is where the quest to unlock the region's inter-Pokecenter travel happens.
Raikou Guardian (boss)
In the middle of the route is a Secret Base, which can be reached by using Surf east of the Trick House. He will fight the player if he or she owns all possible Generation 1 and Generation 2 Pokémons, as well as has over 750 hours of playtime. See the main article for more information.
