—Red

After multiple encounters throughout Kanto's storyline, Red has settled once and for all in his famous location in the Gold Silver games, Mt. Silver. Now a Boss NPC, he will fight the player one last time before vanishing forever.

Challenging Red

Red is located at the summit of Mt. Silver. However, reaching him is no easy feat, as many strong trainers will be blocking the way inside the mountain. Particularly, there will be a Hiker blocking the final area, which will only leave after defeating the Karate Master in the Expert Belt room. Said room is located in Mt. Silver 1F, just up the waterfall by the entrance.

Red will challenge the player given that he or she has at least 3 level 100 Pokémons on-hand. Win or lose, he will no longer appear.

  • Emboldened moves avail from a STAB bonus when deployed by that Pokémon.

Rewards

Win or lose, Red will disappear forever and his rewards will be given even if he won. Red is one of two requirements to unlock the subway, as such if the subway quest has already been completed, it will now be possible to use the underground subways in Kanto and Johto.

Furthermore, Red is also one of the requisites for entering Trainers Valley, the other requirements being related to the Pokédex completion rate.
