Team Galactic HQ quest

Outside events

After talking to Barry in Lake Acuity, the next objective will be at Team Galactic HQ, the large stylized building in the north-east. However, before raiding the HQ, it will be necessary to speak to the Grunt in front of the building, who will fight the player.

Upon defeating him, he will give the password, which allows access into the Galactic Warehouse, the small building west of the HQ where Dawn'sPokédex was previously recovered. The warehouse being connected on the underground to the HQ, this is where the Team Galactic HQ raid begins.

Objective 1: Open the main door

With the password obtained, all there is to do in the warehouse is to examine the door. Just like back in Celadon's Rocket hideout, the door looks more like a wall, but can be identified by its missing upper part.

Once inside, the underpass will look like a corridor. There is a door on the north-west side, which can only be opened from the other way. Opening the door is technically optional, but obtaining its password is mandatory. It will thus be necessary to go into the main building and find the path that returns into the north side of the underpass.

Once in there, the grunt on the other side will say she lost the password, which, as she clearly hints, is inside the trash can on the other side of the boxes. With the password obtained, the door can be opened by examining it. The password will also be necessary for opening all other doors of Team Galactic HQ. It will thus be necessary to return outside and enter the main Galactic building from its front entrance this time.

Objective 2: Defeat Cyrus

After opening the door at the Team Galactic HQ front entrance, the next objective will be to find Cyrus, who is on the 4th floor of the building. The warp puzzle of the building being rather straightforward, getting lost shouldn't be possible.

After reaching the 4th floor and speaking to Cyrus, he will fight the player. His team is estimated to be level 70. However unlike the previous encounter with Cyrus, his Pokémons are using the default leveling moveset, making it a far easier battle.

Objective 3: Free the Lake Guardian trio

Once defeated, Cyrus and the barrier blocking the next room will disappear, allowing the player to continue onto the Lake Trio Room using the yellow teleporter. This time, it will be Commander Saturn that must be fought. His team is estimated to be level 60. Note that due to a bug, most of his Pokémons know an illegal moveset, as such they are subject to change.

With Commander Saturn defeated, the Lake Guardians can be freed by examining the machine, putting an end to the Team Galactic HQ quest. The next story objective will be at Mt. Coronet Summit.

Commander Saturn
  • Emboldened moves avail from a STAB bonus when deployed by that Pokémon.
  • Italicized moves are functionally broken; see their individualized pages for more information.
