Corsica Island is a custom-built island for the express purpose of hosting the Fishing Contest.
The island can be reached by speaking with the Aero Airlines NPC in Resort Area at the cost of 5,000 per visit, or free of charge if you have an active Transit Pass.

Fishing Contest

The Fishing Contest is a weekly event that takes place on Corsica Island. It opens every Saturday either 10:00AM or 10:00PM GMT+0, and lasts for 60 minutes.
The basic premise of the Fishing Contest is to find Pokémon and submit them to the Expert Fisherman NPC, similar to the Bug Catching Contest. The points system is based entirely on rarity and IVs. The rarer the Pokémon, the more points it can be. By the same token, the more IVs it has, the more points it can be. The 25 people with the highest points will receive the bulk of the rewards. However, only Pokémon with a desirable Nature and Ability are able to be submitted. Below is a table that denotes the acceptable natures and ability combinations for each Pokémon that can be submitted to the Expert Fisherman.

A Known Bug

This is a known bug that occurs if you get kicked out of the game during the contest.

How to solve it

To resolve it, you simply have to just flush your variables. This step must be done while the Fishing Contest is not ongoing.
To flush your variables, go back to Corsica Island and walk back in front of the fishing NPC then interact with them. This should now have flushed your variables and you should be able to enter the next fishing contest.

Rewards

Top 3

For placing in the top 3, you will be rewarded with the following:

A small chance at a Christmas form for Keldeo. Note that Keldeo must not be in its Resolute form, else it will not be able to change form.
A small chance at a Bow, Spear, or Water Shuriken cosmetic
A 7-day Transit Pass that is instantly consumed
A 24-hour Safari-Pass that can be activated by an NPC in any Safari

10 PP Up
50 PvE Coins
2-3 different types of PvP Berries
