Notice!
This area is part of Vulcan Island, the summer event island. As such, its accessibility is limited to its opening times, which are between June and August.

Vulcan Island - Kanto

Overview

Vulcan Island is an event island which opens during the summer. It can be accessed by talking to Sailor Dionisis in various ports, namely Vermilion City, Olivine City, Lilycove City and Canalave City. This brings the player to Vulcan Island Shore. When speaking back to Sailor Dionisis, he will return the player to the port from which he or she entered Vulcan Island.

Areas

Main Activities

Trainers

Vulcan Island is home to almost 100 trainers, all of which have Pokémon ranging between level 60 and 90. This makes it an excellent area for training Pokémon in their last 20 levels, as well as an easy and fun way to quickly earn money.

Vulcan Quest

Starting in Vulcanic Town, the Vulcan Quest is separated into two parts. The first part branches into two path: helping Team Aqua or helping Team Magma. The rewards vary depending on which team was helped, however it is possible to reset the quest in order to fetch the rewards from the other side.

The second part of Vulcan Quest will send the player to Vulcan Cave, where the player will get to fight Manaphy. It, however, cannot be caught.

Summer Points

There are three sources of Summer Points:

  • Completion of the second part of Vulcan Quest.
  • Submitting either Chimchar or Piplup, depending on which team you chose to help, to Challenger Rick at Vulcanic Town.
  • Defeating the Summer Guardian bosses
  • Placing top 10 in the race in Alto Mare

These points can be redeemed for a large variety of hats and clothes at either Vulcanic Town or Alto Mare at the Summer Shop. They can also be redeemed at Slateport City, although the NPC there does not offer clothes.

Abandoned Pokémon

There are two Abandoned Pokémon on Vulcan Island.
