The Team Rocket trio comprises a bipersonal boss-NPC entity. Either Jessie or James can be challenged, who will deploy discrete lineups—ones that are loosely resemblant of the Pokémon that they acquired throughout their chronicles in the anime.

Challenging Team Rocket

The trio can be found skulking at the southwesternmost corner of the alleyway behind Celadon Department Store; this area will be made immediately accessible upon completing the compulsory Celadon Rocket Hideout quest in the same city.

You must have a pikachu in your party and then speak to either Jessie or James to initiate a battle; you will need to battle the respective lineup of whichever one you initiatingly interact with. Regardless of who you challenge, the prizesets will be indiscrete, and the entire trio will despawn for the same cooldown time in 12 days.

If you lose to either member of the lineup, they will plunder an amount of Pokémoney ranging from 10,000 to 30,000. Should this amount exceed your total Pokémoney count, they will simply steal the entirety of what Pokémoney you have left.
