The Zekrom and Reshiram quest is the first Legendary Pokémon quest that features a co-op Dungeon quest.
This quest allows the player to complete their Tao Trio collection, whereas only Kyurem was obtainable until the 2021 Christmas event.
It was first released during the 2021 Christmas event, but was not introduced before Q1 of 2022.
After being exclusive to the Christmas event, the quest was later relocated to Eindoak Town to be accessible throughout the year.
Instructional walkthrough
Starting the quest
Mannes

To begin the quest, travel to Eindoak Town, which can be accessed from Eumi Island by speaking to Sailor Drew.
You can reach Eumi Island from Lilycove City by talking to Sailor Jacob.
Once in Eindoak Town, speak with Mannes. Mannes is in the middle of the town square and he will instruct you to find Damon.
Damon

Damon can be found in the Enyor Island Forest. To get there, head northeast through the Eindoak Waterway from Eindoak Town.
After speaking with Damon, he will return to Eindoak Town. Follow him back and speak to Mannes once again.
Obtaining the Dark Stone
Battle Tournament
Once we've found Damon, we can finally start the Battle Tournament.
This part can take a few attempts to complete, depending on how you do in the 5 battles and how many points you earn/lose.
How to start the Tournament
Go to the Pokécenter and find the one Pokémon you want to register.
Notice: You're only allowed to have the one Pokémon you want to register in your party while registering and battling.
Talk with Mannes when you're ready to register your Pokémon.
How does the Tournament work
You'll have to fight 5 different trainers and they are all scattered throughout the islands.
I suggest using a Pokémon with great coverage.
Trainer Locations
- Luis – Eindoak Waterway
- Glacine – Eindoak Waterway
- Leeku – Galeras Island East
- Ravine – Galeras Island East
- Luisa – Galeras Island East
- Mannes Jr. – Galeras Island West
- Juanita – Galeras Island West
- Tatsuki – Galeras Island West
- Carlita – Enyor Island Forest
- Damon – Enyor Island Forest
Point system
While battling, they will prompt you with a question.
If you have enough points they will provide an x2 multiplier, they'll start with x1.
Damon will have up to an x4 multiplier.
In most cases, winning all the matches should give you an easy win if you go all-in on each trainer and win.
If you fail, just try again or register a different Pokémon this time.
Reward
Once you defeat Damon in the tournament, he will congratulate you on your victory.
Return to Mannes in Eindoak Town to receive the Dark Stone. With the Dark Stone in your possession, you will now be able to access the Dragonspiral Tower.
Dragonspiral Tower
- Main article: Dragonspiral Tower
Once you've obtained the Dark Stone the police officer blocking the door will allow you access to the Dragonspiral Tower.
Head east to the Dragonspiral Tower Exterior and speak with the Guard to gain entry into the Tower.
This is where the quest jumps from Medium to Hard difficulty.
Notice: Healing items and other important battle support items (i.e Elixir, Berries, etc) are temporarily disabled while in the tower.
Useful tip:
Bring a lot of Repels before starting your journey to the top. It will come in handy while on floor 4F and for avoiding wild spawns.
Caution: All the Pokémon roaming around on all floors will battle you if you're within their line of sight!
They will also battle in a pack, being either 2 or 3 or on some rare occasions only 1 Pokémon, ranging from level 93 to 99.
Dragonspiral Tower 1F
This floor has nothing but wild spawns.
Dragonspiral Tower 2F
This room is the first in a series of rooms you'll need to find crystals to weaken the barrier to move forward.
You can find the first crystal to the left of the only staircase in the room (location).
Dragonspiral Tower 3F
This is the only floor featuring platforms you can jump between.
There are in total 3 crystals on this floor, one at the left bottom, one in the middle, and one on the top right corner.
All crystals have to be activated to move forward.
Dragonspiral Tower 4F
Caution:Failing to follow the Pansage, if the player is too slow and hits the swarm or steps on an unstable tile. They will be automatically returned to the entrance of the floor.
The floor is unstable and you can find a Pansage that you'll need to interact with.
It will start to run, while a swarm of Golbats is chasing you.
Every time it detects an unstable tile, it will use the exclamation emote and also make a sound cue.
Avoid stepping on anything that Pansage isn't stepping on, as it might be unstable. Tiles next to idle Pansage are unstable.
Useful tip: Wild Pokémon will spawn and it might disrupt your run. This is where the Repels will come in handy.
Dragonspiral Tower 5F
This is the first floor with a maze with electric beams moving in a set pattern
Caution: Touching the moving Electric beams will send you back to the entrance. Some of them might also be bugged if moving too fast and clip through them.
This room has 3 crystals, whereas two of them are fake and will prompt a battle instead, so be prepared! They are all randomly placed for each player and they are totally randomized for being real or fake.
Dragonspiral Tower 6F
This is the final challenge floor and features a switch maze where the player has to activate the right switches in order to progress. Useful tip: At the start of the floor, you can avoid all the Pokémon by going behind them.
Switches Tutorial
Dragonspiral Tower 7F
This is the top floor where you'll be prompted into battling with Damon and then immediately Zekrom once you step in the shiny circle
Battling Damon
Damon always starts with Gothitelle and all of his Pokémon share the Dark and Ghost-type weakness.
Once Damon is defeated, Zekrom will battle the player without allowing them to rearrange their party.

Battling Zekrom
Zekrom is a pretty bulky Pokémon and a successful strategy used against bulky Pokémon is using the old Toxic-stall method.
It is not the fastest Pokémon, but if you're worried that it might outspeed your setup Pokémon, bring a Klefki with Prankster ability and Toxic.

Capturing Zekrom and Reshiram
After battling Damon and Zekrom, you need to interact with the shiny circle again.
This will prompt a message to either leave or stay.
Reshiram
To be able to capture Reshiram you'll need to have obtained the Light Stone, which is a reward for doing the Dungeon quest.
Do note that this is an RNG reward and is not a guaranteed reward for completing a Dungeon run. It might take a few runs before you acquire it.
Once you've obtained this, all you need is to go back to the tower and it will spawn once you interact with the shiny circle again.
Stay or leave
You can choose to stay and then battle and capture Zekrom and/or Reshiram.
But they won't spawn unless you've interacted with the circle after battling with Damon and Zekrom.
Reshiram won't spawn unless a Light Stone is present.
Syncing the Pokémon
If you want to bring a Sync, then choose to leave.
When you leave the tower, you will have to go through floors 1F through 6F again to reach 7F.
The only difference now is that you have your items, the roaming Pokémon are now gone and only 4F, 5F and 6F are the only ones you need to redo.
And by redo, I mean to follow the Pansage and activate the hidden switch on 4F, go through the maze with Electric beams moving in a set pattern on 5F, and do the maze with all the switches again on 6F.
In case of ending the battle without a catch, a disconnect or deleting the legendary Pokémon after it was caught, it will re-spawn on the same location, with the same IVs, ability and nature waiting to be caught.
