Celadon Rocket Hideout is a clandestine operational base that droves of Team Rocket agents used in their attempt to subjugate Celadon City.

It is the central domain of the Celadon Rocket Hideout quest, which players compulsorily complete before accessing Celadon Gym to obtain the Rainbow Badge. It is accessible via Celadon City Gamecorner, which the player is allowed to enter through to pretextually to liaise with the Team Rocket scientists in their experiment.

Once the quest is complete and Team Rocket has absconded the premise, it will not be continually accessible; as such, it is considered prudent to maximize all the obtainable resources in this area, since they will be precluded once the area is left.

Celadon Rocket Hideout Quest

The story mandatory quest begins by talking to Sergeant Rick standing nearby the casino of Celadon City. Upon offering help, he will inform the player that there are high probabilities for the Team Rocket Hideout to be hidden under the casino. Upon accepting, he will give the player an Eevee -in appearance only, Eevee does not appear as a pokemon nor item- and the underground will be available to the player by talking to the NPC guarding the casino's stairs.

Objective 1: Obtain the Card Key

After talking to the NPC, the player will be taken in the Team Rocket underground. There will be no way out until the player takes the Lift Key on the table and enters the Elevator. Upon going to the B2F floor, the player will be met with Jackson, who will battle on sight. Trying to return to the elevator will send the player to a detention room. The player can escape by examining the boxes on the right. However, all Rocket Grunts on this floor will immediately send the player back to the detention room should the player enter their line of sight.

From there, the player will need to go down the stairs to B3F, walk through the Spinpads and go down the stairs again to B4F. In this side of B4F will be found the Card Key item for which a Rocket Grunt must be defeated before it can be taken. Once it is obtained, the player will be able to tackle on the next objective of the quest.

Objective 2: Defeat Giovanni

Obtaining the Card Key to open receptors is not enough to rescue the Eevee used to enter the hideout, a password will also be necessary, which is known by Giovanni. To find him, the player must go down the stairs to B2F, make his or her way through the spinpads, take the elevator to B4F and open a strangely hidden door using the obtained Card Key; the door's location is the same as in the original games, but there is a lacking shadow beneath the "door". Upon defeating Giovanni, he will reward the player with the password for the receptors and take his retreat.

Objective 3: Retrieve the Eevee

With both the Card Key and the password in hand, the player will be able to open receptors, one of which the Eevee that was used to enter the hideout will be locked in. It is necessary to save it before talking to Sergent Rick again. Greg, the scientist that took the Eevee, will be waiting immediately south of the stairs on B3F. After he is defeated, he will however teleport the Eevee to a random receptor within the hideout; the location is different for each player.

Once the Eevee has been retrieved, the player can make his way out of the hideout and talk to Sergent Rick to complete the Celadon Rocket Hideout quest. The Eevee will also be kept as a gift; it will be level 5.

Notable features

Detentive Team Rocket agents

On the first floor, a gauntlet of Team Rocket captors can be found patrolling the first floor; if you walk within eyeshot of them, they will detain you into the detentional center on that same floor.

If you end up confined in the room, you can escape it by interacting with the crate; this will offer the option of clambering over the wall in order to extricate you from it.

Spinpads

Spinpads are specially bounceable tiles that when ricocheted off of, the player will be sent spinning in the direction that it is pointing in.

They are constructed to create navigational puzzles on B3F and B4F that the player must traverse in order to negotiate through the room.
