Pokemon Revolution Online Wiki:Policies
As an official Pokémon Revolution Online (PRO) resource, PRO Wiki and its subresources (including the PRO Wiki Discord) are subject to the same code of conduct (COC) as every other platform in PRO's network of services. All editors are required to adhere to applicable PRO rules in addition to the wiki-specific ruleset (detailed infra) when communicating with others and adding, modifying, and removing content throughout PRO Wiki.
Violating the COC may result in temporary or permanent restrictions or revocations of editing privileges. Extreme and repeated transgressions may also warrant game-account punishments.
As a rule of thumb, do not discuss or submit content that would be considered unacceptable anywhere else in PRO. When in doubt about the permissibility of your actions, consult the wiki's staff.
Wiki Rules
Policies
Policies are codified as PRO Wiki's own ruleset, which must be followed in addition to all the applicable below-defined PRO ruleset. Such transgressions—depending on the severity of the non-complied rule, the degree of infringement, and the violator's prior disciplinary history—may result in blocks (bans) from editing PRO Wiki. Additionally, corrective measures, such as reversions of violative edits, may be performed.
Blockable infractions include but aren't limited to:
- Vandalism
- Inappropriate images
- Malicious links
- Misbehavior
- Server abuse
- Manual of Style (MoS) violations
- Miscellaneous rules
Vandalism
Vandalism is defined as activity that deliberately or maliciously undermines the intended overall quality of content. Vandalistic actions include
- Gratuitously removing valuable information, images, templates, or contents therein
- Knowingly adding disinformation to pages
- Obfuscating the clarity of writing (e.g., using another language)
- Deliberately adding extraneous, duplicate, or untopical content
- Malicious or otherwise irrelevant advertisements and external links
Vandalism is prohibited even for content you submitted yourself: authoring edits does not authorize you to remove them. PRO Wiki holds dominion over all content on this resource, which every editor consents to when submitting edits and uploading files.
Inappropriate images
Malicious links
Misbehavior
Users are allowed to communicate with others on the wiki chiefly through User pages, Talk pages, and changelog notes. When using these mediums to interact with others, you must be respectful to everyone potentially addressed.
Server abuse
Although PRO Wiki has instated robust security policies and mechanisms, it is not impossible to harm the host's server (deliberately or ingenuously) with the content submitted. For special types of edits, we ask that you are mindful not to exploit or add excessive overhead to the server in any way.
Potential cases of abuse include but aren't limited to:
- Inserting server-injection statements
- Repeatedly editing articles containing massive amounts of bytes (whether preexisting or created) within a short timespan
- (D)DoS attacks
Any deliberate attempts to abuse the server will immediately warrant a ban. If such behavior is reasonably believed to be unintentional, it may only result in a verbal warning for the first occurrence.
MoS violations
The MoS is an instruction manual used to improve the quality and consistency of written content. While MoS violations—especially minor or unintentional ones—typically do not result in any disciplinary action, they may require it depending on the severity, recurrence, and intentionality of such noncompliances.
All editors are encouraged to be mindful of the MoS guidelines detailed further on in this article.
Miscellaneous rules
Any behavior, activity, or content not defined in the above-detailed wiki-specific ruleset may still be prohibited here if it is prohibited elsewhere in PRO's domain.
As a metarule, anything punishable on other PRO resources may be punishable on PRO Wiki as well. Just as you're not allowed to discuss ban cases, for instance, on the forums (outside of Discipline Appeals), in-game chat, and Discord, you are not allowed to discuss it here, either.
All applicable rulesets are subject to further changes (effectively immediately upon revision) and the discretion of the PRO Wiki team's interpretation. When in doubt, consult one of the wiki's Editors or Administrators.
Manual of Style
The Manual of Style (MoS) is a set of writing guidelines that instructs editors to conform to the stylistic guidelines when writing, entitling, and linking articles. It's intended to professionalize and uniformize the writing style to ensure standard quality and consistency of written content.
Language
English only
Currently English is the only written language available and intended for PRO Wiki. There are no translations available for other languages, nor are they planned due to the infeasibility of it.
All editors are required to write PRO Wiki content strictly in the English language. PRO Wiki users may use other languages to communicate on discussion and user pages if they are mutually fluent and consenting, but not on the main article pages.
No profanity
Grammar and spelling
As a monolingually English-written encyclopedia, editors are enjoined to follow all conventions for syntax, punctuation, and spelling to the best of their abilities. Various proofreading tools are available to assist you with refining your writing, which is especially advisable if English is not your primary language.
Grammaticality and spellchecking are crucial not just for professionalism but also for clarity. Many heterolingual readers might depend on translators to understand PRO Wiki's content, and mistranslations are likelier to occur if there are spelling or syntactic errors.
Objectivity
Content is intended to be as factual as possible. Factuality isn't just about correct information; it's also about your manner of expression. You should present such facts objectively and neutrally, unalloyed by subjective interpretations and personal biases.
Additionally, do not use subjective language; rather, use the most specific and factual terms you can when writing descriptions.
For example, refer to the following contrast between objective and subjective descriptors below.
Object | Subjective | Objective |
---|---|---|
Caterpie | Caterpie is a weak Pokémon. | Caterpie has a BST of 195, which is statistically below the average Pokémon's BST. |
Veracity
All information should be as accurate and up-to-date as maintainable. It is acceptable if an article is left temporarily incomplete, but all the content on it should be correct to the best of your knowledge.
If in doubt, take time to fact-check information before submitting it. If you can't verify it in a timely fashion, do not submit it in any potentially misleading fashion if you are to submit it altogether.

PvP Rules
1. Every match should be played out in a timely manner. Time-, PP-, Switch- or any type of stalling beyond reasonable usage is not allowed. Video evidence is required and without it we will not take actions. Video evidence may be deemed insufficient at Moderators discretion.
- PP-stalling: Using moves to unnecessarily extend a match's duration with no proper reasoning such as using healing moves instead of attacking
- Switch-stalling: Switching your Pokémon around with no proper reasoning instead of attacking.
- Time-stalling: Waiting until the last few seconds to make your move on every single turn, prolonging the match more necessary.
2. Boosting in any form in Ranked PvP, random ranked included, is forbidden. Action will be taken if caught or attempted. | Rule explanation
Playing against someone under the same network connection is considered boosting as staff is unable to verify if it's actually two different people playing.
3. Intentionally queuing against a user to aid yourself or another user in the form of Rating, PvP Coins, etc will be considered as Ranked Boosting and will be punished accordingly.
4. You can use only 2 of your own accounts to PvP within each season. Using any account you do not rightfully own, or using more than 2 accounts, will result in heavy punishment.
- You can only have one account in the Top 25 at the end of the season, having more than one will result in heavy punishment.
- You can only have one account in the Top 25 of one server, having your account in the Top 25 of both servers will result in heavy punishment.

2. Sleep Clause: If you have already put a Pokémon on your opponent's side to sleep, and it is still sleeping, you cannot put another one to sleep.
This rules is not induced by self-sleep inducing moves, such as Rest. Video evidence is required.
- Natural Cure - Two Pokémon can be put to sleep if, and only if, the first Pokémon has Natural Cure (The reverse order would violate the clause as the Natural Cure Pokémon would be on the field asleep with an additional Pokémon being asleep in the party).
- Pokémon that use U-turn or Volt Switch on the turn that they wake up will show as asleep until they are back on the field
3. Endless Battle Clause: Any moveset that is capable of intentionally causing an endless battle is banned. More specifically:

- In-game: End points cannot be extended for any reason, and must be accurate to the second that the auction is set to end. It is recommended to use timestamps to manage your auction correctly.
› e.g. If the auction ends at 15:00:00, bids are valid until 14:59:59 and no later.
- Forum: If a bid is received in the final 15 minutes of the auction, the end point will be delayed by 15 minutes from that bid, and will be delayed by 15 minutes for each new bid thereafter, until the current offer has been held for a full 15 minutes. Must be accurate to the minute that the auction is set to end.
› e.g. If the auction ends at 15:00, it will end at 15:00:00. If a late bid is received in the final 15 minutes, at 14:46, the auction will end at 15:01. If another user bids at 15:00, the auction will be extended again, and will end at 15:15, this will be repeated until the current offer has been held for a full 15 minutes.
