The Pumpkin King is a boss NPC that can be found on Route 6.

It is an animate, semi-anthropomorphic, outsized pumpkin that tries to intimidate all passersby on the route, attempting to menace the qualifiable trainers into a battle.

Thereupon defeating The Pumpkin King, you will inherit access to the berry shop in Goldenrod City; this is the only vendor of EV-reductive berries in the game, thereby providing a more expeditious avenue to obtain them for those who are affluent enough to outlay the expenditures for them.

Prizesets

For defeating The Pumpkin King, you'll reap a randomized commodity in an item or a Pokémon—the latter of which is predominantly rewarded. There is a 1/4,096 chance of obtaining a shiny counterpart of any of the Pokémon rewarded.
