Grassy Terrain is a Grass-type, Status move.
Function
In Battle
Grassy Terrain creates a Terrain that replaces any existing terrain effects and changes the battlefield's appearance. The terrain lasts for five turns unless extended. While active, it affects all grounded Pokémon that are not in the middle of a semi-invulnerable move (e.g. Fly or Dig).
Its effects are as follows:
- Increases the power of Grass-type moves used by affected Pokémon by 30%.
- At the end of each turn, the terrain restores the HP of each affected Pokémon by 1/16 of its maximum HP.
- It causes Floral Healing to restore up to ⅔ of the target's maximum HP instead of the usual ½.
- Nature Power becomes Energy Ball.
- Secret Power has a 30% chance to cause sleep.
- Changes Terrain Pulse to Grass-type and doubles its base power.
- Changes a Pokémon’s type to Grass if it has the Ability Mimicry.
- Increases the priority of Grassy Glide by one stage.
Grassy Terrain is automatically set when a Pokémon with Grassy Surge enters the field, when a Pokémon with the Seed Sower is damaged by a move, or when Max Overgrowth is used.
If a Pokémon is holding a Grassy Seed when Grassy Terrain is active, the item is consumed and the Pokémon's Defense rises by one stage. If a Terrain Extender is held, the terrain will last for eight turns instead of five.
Grassy Terrain is removed when Defog, G-Max Wind Rage, Steel Roller, or Ice Spinner is used.
If powered up with Grassium Z, Z-Grassy Terrain raises the user's Defense by one stage.
