Mt. Chimney is a Hoenn volcano near Lavaridge Town. The area is linked to Route 112 through cable cars, which will be blocked until Jackson in Meteor Falls has been defeated. It is then linked directly to Jagged Pass, which will also be blocked until Maxie has been defeated.

After the Mt. Chimney Encounter, the area will be left devoid of anything except a respawnable TM, giving little reason to ever return there.

Mt. Chimney Encounter

After defeating Jackson in Meteor Falls, Mt. Chimney will be unblocked and be the next story destination. In there, many Maqua grunts will be blocking the way to the Magma Team leader, Maxie. The encounter ends after Maxie's battle, whose Pokémons are estimated to be level 40.

Once defeated, the path down Jagged Pass will be unblocked and it will be possible to head down to Lavaridge Town.
