Pokéballs are used to catch wild Pokémon. The standard Pokéball, Great Ball, Ultra Ball, and Master Ball are in PRO with each having a higher successful catch rate. Pokéballs and Master Balls cannot be traded. All of them are not mailable.

Pokéballs

This is the standard ball used. It is the least successful for catching wild Pokémon and is the most affordable. The selling price is typically 200. Acquirability

There are special deals available at the Celadon, Goldenrod, and Veilstone Department stores. An NPC offers 50 of them for 9,000. This results in saving 1,000.. This NPC is located on the second floor in Celadon and Goldenrod. In Veilstone, he is located on the ground floor.

Great Balls

This ball has a higher success rate in comparison to the standard Pokéball. Moreover, it is generally in the same places although exact Pokémarts, dig spots, and excavation sites have some differences. The selling price is 600. Unlike Pokéballs, there are no special discounts available.

Ultra Balls

Ultra balls have a higher success rate than both the standard Pokéball and Great Ball. They are found in many of the same places as well although exact dig spots, Pokémarts, and excavation sites do differ. The selling price is generally 1,200. There is a special discount available through the Ultra Ball Maniac. Players can purchase 300 and 600 for 270,000 and 500,000. He can be found at the Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn Safari lobby areas.

Master Balls

This is a type of ball that has a 100% successful rate. They are particularly useful for Legendary Pokémon with low catch rates.

Do note that you can not successfully catch a Pokémon with full storage. The maximum number of Pokémon you can have is 900. Using a Master Ball will not override this.

Acquirability This is a more exclusive item that is not available in the locations other Pokéballs are. Also, it cannot be traded.
