Spiky Shield is a Grass type, Status move.
Functionality
Spiky Shield protects the user from all effects of moves that target the user during the turn it is used, including damage. Additionally, if Spiky Shield blocks an attack that would make contact with the user, the attacker suffers damage equal to 1/8 of its maximum HP. However, if an attack is blocked by Spiky Shield, the effects of the user's Rocky Helmet, Rough Skin (ability), and Iron Barbs (ability) will not activate.
Z-Spiky Shield: Raises the user's Defense by 1 stage, then uses Spiky Shield.
