Valley Of Steel is an extra area in Hoenn. Though it is not required to come here during the main story, there are several reasons to visit. From a boss to a Mega stone quest, there is much to do in this small area. Though there are many attractions here, leep in mind there is no Pokémart, so have your items ready before entering.
To enter, you must be the Hoenn Champion. Furthermore, every time you enter, you will be charged 7,500, even if you have a Transit Pass.

Steven's quest

Main article: Steven (boss)

Steven boss can be found within Valley Of Steel. He will require you to have a Steel type Pokémon and a Pokémon with the move Iron Defense. These requirements can be on a single Pokémon. Check the main page for more details.

In order to unlock Steven boss, there is a small quest needed to be done.
Upon entering Valley Of Steel, there will be a Torkoal blocking the bridge, speak with it. Then, head to Valley Of Steel Western Peak and speak with the Torkoal found there. From there, head south and you will find a few Pokémon there, including Torkoal. It will want to come along with you.

Afterwards, head to Valley Of Steel Eastern Peak and enter House 3—Steven's house. Once you have spoken to Steven, return to where Torkoal joined you and battle the Steelix.

Return to Steven's house in Valley Of Steel Eastern Peak and speak with him. He will then leave to Valley Of Steel Undeground.
On the north side of Valley Of Steel, there is a cave entrance. Make your way to it and enter it, speak with the guard there and you will now have the ability to challenge Steven.

Mawilite

Main article: Mawilite (quest)

Stone Analyzer

On the top left corner of Valley Of Steel, there is an NPC named Tim. Speak with him to start his mini quest.
He will tell you about his cousin Groon who can be found in Route 103. Go there and speak with Groon. He will then redirect you to Sootopolis City. There, you will find Trinita, she will ask that you bring her an Oddish with 146 IVs or more.
After submitting the Oddish to Trinita, return to Tim in Valley Of Steel. He will then let you battle and capture a Pawniard.

Neptuno

Neptuno is an NPC in Valley Of Steel House 3 that will give you daily quests in the form of a battle or a scavenger hunt. If, at any point, you leave Valley Of Steel, the daily quest and its rewards will be voided.
For the battle quests, you will have to battle one out of 5 potential NPCs.

At the entrance to Valley Of Steel, there is a TM Tutor for Flash Cannon.
