Trace is one of the many abilities that are inheritable by Pokémon.
Function
On switch-in, or when this Pokémon acquires this ability, this Pokémon copies a random adjacent opposing Pokémon's Ability. Otherwise, if there is no Ability that can be copied at that time, this Ability will activate as soon as an Ability can be copied. Abilities that cannot be copied are. Comatose (ability), Disguise (ability), Flower Gift (ability), Forecast (ability), Illusion (ability), Imposter (ability), Multitype (ability), Schooling (ability), Stance Change (ability), Trace (ability), and Zen Mode (ability).
