Archie is the head of Team Aqua and the counterpart of Maxie, head of Team Magma. Archie falls under the Quest Boss category and is thereafter not repeatable, even if the player should lose. His only purpose is to give the player the Kyogre Pokedex entry, this data is also possible to obtain elsewhere (i.e on Nikola (boss)) and is mainly required as a prerequisite to being able to do the Jirach quest.
Challenging Archie
Archie resides in the Marine Cave located in Cave of Origin that can be found at the North end of Sootopolis City. To be able to challenge Archie to a battle, the player must have completed the Hoenn League, have a full set of level 100 Pokemon in the lineup, and have the bare minimum of at least 50 hours since entering the Hoenn region. Once these are met, Archie will prompt the player to a battle and the outcome will remain relatively the same. Once the battle is over, win or loss, he vanishes and will no longer be challengeable.

Rewards
The player will get the Kyogre Pokedex entry no matter the outcome. If the player win, a single Carvanha is rewarded.
