Location

A positional vantage point of Celadon Department Store in Kanto.

Celadon Department Store is a six-story compartmental emporium located in Celadon City, being the largest building therein.

It is the only department store available in Kanto; by extension, it is the largest store in the region, carrying the most all-encompassing inventory of items—inclusive of some item categories that are not ubiquitously retailed in Pokémarts, such as TMs and evolutionary stones.

Notable miscellanies

Max Revive Trader

The Max Revive trader is located on the first floor. He will simply exchange the player's Max Revives for Revival Herbs, which have the same intended effect.

Fashion Girl Emily

Emily is located on the first floor. After a certain update, Goth Clothes and Autumn Clothes were switched to other color or the other type of cloth. Fashion Girl Emily trades any of these clothes to any color of both types.

Thief quest

Main article: Thief (quest)

The department store is the central domain of the Thief quest—a quest that rewards the eponymous TM. The quest entails purloining items in the store.

The quest can be started by speaking to a man in burglarious apparel on the rooftop.

Pinkan Island quest

Main article: Pinkan Island (quest)

After speaking to the Biker in Saffron City, the next person to speak to is the Department Store Owner on the first floor. He will say that they have been robbed, but won't give any information about who did it or where they may be. The next destination will then be Route 7.

Rotom cardboards

There is a stack of cardboard boxes that can be used for Rotom forms on the 2nd floor. If the player has a Rotom in his or her party, it will be able to freely change between the multiple forms with no cost or delay.

PvE Coin Master

Main article: PvE Coins

The PvE Coin Master is located on the 4th floor. He will sell various rare Pokemon and items using PvE Coins as a currency. He will sell up to 5 different kind of Pokemon, which are randomized each week from a list of Pokemon. The items he sell varie from a large variety of categories, including Cosmetics, Mounts, Evolution items, Battle items and Usable items.

Magby-trader

An NPC trader can be found on the 5th floor; he will trade his Magby in exchange for a Magmar. There is a 5% chance that the traded Magby will hold a Magmarizer.

TM-exchanger

On the rooftop, Pokémon Novice Loise can be found. For a one-off exchange, you can trade her Fresh Water, Lemonade, and Soda Pop for TM75 (Swords Dance), TM44 (Rest), and TM138 (Sleep Talk), respectively.

Floors

1F: Receptionistic Counter

This is the service-counter floor where shoppers are greeted by the receptionist. There are also a few miscellaneous NPCs that will trade certain items.

A move-tutor can also be found on the left hand side of the entrance; he will impart the Throat Chop technique to any compatible Pokémon for 15,000 per tutee.

Item Buyer

The Item Buyer will buy many items from the player. Most specifically, he will rebuy Pokéballs and Potions for 1/8 of their regular price, and regular berries for 20, as noted by the table below.
