Pinkan City is the entry point to Love Island, an extra island located in Kanto. It can be accessed by talking the Pinkan Island Sailor after completing the first part of the Pinkan Island quest.
Being the city of the island, this area has a Pokémon Center and a Pokemart available to use. There are also berries that can be picked on the beach. There however isn't much happening in that area.

Pinkan Island quest

When first arriving on the island, an Officer Jenny will give the gist of what is happening on the island, and then leave. The second part of the quest will truely begin once the player leaves to the southern area, Pinkan Island Forest. However beforehand, the Pinkan Ranger will take the player's Pokeballs away, preventing from catching any Pokémon until the quest has been completed.
Berry Stumps
There are 4 Berry Stumps scattered on the beach, which can be noticed by the glitter emanating from them. Picking them up rewards the player with a random berry from the list below.
