"After mindlessly grinding these Pokemon, I can put the perfect exclamation point on my task by deploying them to beat you!"
—NaeroNaero is the staff-member boss NPC of the eponymous Content Scripter.
It is best-known for its antecedence to Egg Moves-tutors, as defeating him is required to access all the regional daycare centers that they reside in. Additionally, given its secondary rewards and the continuity thereof, Naero is also considered a prolific fertile ground for obtaining baby-stage Pokémon as an alternative to hunting for them in the wild.
Challenging Naero
Naero is stationed in Cerulean Cave B1F; this necessitates that you defeat Lance in Dragons Den B1F before the occlusive Cerulean Cave guard disappears.
Therein, he can be found wandering around in the trench in the northwestern segment of the basement floor. If you have six level-100 Pokémon on-hand, Naero will challenge you.
If you lose to Naero, you must wait 12 days to rechallenge him; that cooldown time is halved to 6 days if you have active membership at the juncture that you challenged him.

Rewards
The permanent reward is access to all the one-regional daycare centers; this inherits tuteeship to egg-move-tutors, as they are housed in each of the centers.
As a continual, more material reward, one random baby-stage Pokémon will also be reaped from Naero each time you defeat him.
There are two subsets that Naero alternates between each time you beat him, depending on whether the amount of times you have defeated him is even- or odd-numbered; for example, you would obtain a Pokémon from subset 1 on your ninth time defeating him, whereas a subset-2 Pokémon would be yielded on the tenth time.
There is a 1/2,000 (0.0005) chance of obtaining a shiny counterpart of that Pokémon; that is also halved to 1/1,000 (0.0010) with active membership.
Each potential Held Item has a 5% chance of being bundled with the Pokémon.
