Legendary Pokémon refers to the group of Pokémon which are unique and more powerful when compared to the rest. One of the aspects making these remarkable are that they spawn like the available Pokémon around the world! For instance, Mew is a legendary Pokémon only obtainable when a player satisfies its requirements.

Fundamental Facts

•Legendary Pokemon are shiny-locked. Hence, there is no chance for a player to obtain a shiny legendary.

• They are only obtainable once. You cannot catch the same legendary Pokemon more than once.

•Legendary Pokemon are the only type of Pokemon whose IVs and nature can be rerolled with the help of Reroll and Nature Reroll Tickets.

•They cannot be traded; unlike other Pokemon, they cannot be traded to other players.

•Currently, all of the legendary Pokemon are not available in PRO.

Catching a legendary Pokemon

As already mentioned above, players need to satisfy certain requirements to claim each legendary Pokemon. Here stated are the requirements and the quests to be satisfied/done in order to claim legendary Pokemon.

Mew

Requirements:

-225+ hours playtime recorded

-Beaten the Johto Champion and have claimed the title

-71 evolved Pokemon data recorded in the Pokedex

-Claimed the Dragon Medallion

-Caught data of all the Pokemon belonging to Kanto except Mewtwo, Moltres, Articuno and Zapdos which have to be recorded as seen data.

"Initiating the quest"

Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres

Firstly, you will have to counter these to record their seen data in your Pokedex. Articuno can be fought at Seafoam B4F; Zapdos can be fought at Power Plant; Moltres can be fought at Kanto Victory Road 3F. (None of the these birds can be caught)

Dragonite and Lance

Enter Blackthorn City in Johto and purchase the Dragon Medallion by interacting with the Head Recruiter in the Dragon Club and by offering 200,000 and having 240 Pokemon caught data. If you cannot claim it, you miss one of the requirements. Once done, head for Cerulean Cave and talk to the guard at the entrance. Now, head back to Blackthorn City and enter the Dragon's Den. Enter Dragon's Den B1F and defeat the Dragonite that blocks your way, and defeat Lance. In order to challenge him, you need to have a full team of level 100 Pokemon. His team consists of Altaria, Dragonite, Garchomp, Flygon, Salamance and Hydreigon. (If you lose to the Dragonite, you will have to wait for 24 hours in order to battle it again whilst Lance does not have a cooldown period)

Mewtwo

Now, head back to Cerulean Cave and counter Mewtwo at Cerulean Cave B1F. (It cannot be captured)

Claim the Old Sea Map

Enter Pallet Town and interact with Proffessor Oak, let him view your Pokedex.

Once finished, approach Celadon City in Kanto to claim your Old Sea Map. Enter in the building next to the Pokecenter and go on the Roof Top by taking the elevator and claim it from an Old Man's NPC.

Faraway Island

After claiming the Old Sea Map, head towards Pallet Town. South of it, a Lapras can be found in the waters. Interact with it between 12:00-13:00 Poketime. It will in turn teleport you to Faraway Island. At there, find Mew and encounter it to catch it! (If you defeated it, the game crashed or by any other means, you could not catch it, you will have to fight with a boss NPC named 'Nikola' at an unknown place in Trainers Valley)
