Route 29 is the first Johto route, linking New Bark Town to Cherrygrove City. On its north side is Route 46, a one-way route that cannot be traversed from Route 29's side.

As the first route of Johto, it is also the route with the lowest leveled Pokémons. With no particular points of interest, it is recommended to quickly move on to the next locations after having captured all desired pokemons.
