Lavaridge Town is a Hoenn town isolated to the west of Route 112. Reaching it requires to pass through Mt. Chimney and Jagged Pass however. To the south of the town is the entrance to Valley of Steel, however it will be blocked until the player completes the Hoenn Elite Four.
The town is known for its hot spring, which can be accessed by a back door of the Pokemon Center. However, it has no useful functionality, leaving the town without any real point of interest outside of its gym.
Notable miscellanies
A Move Tutor for the move Dark Pulse is located in the town's Pokémart. He will teach the move to any compatible Pokémon for the price of
9,000.
Items
Lavaridge Gym
The puzzle of the gym is just like the original games. There are two floors with holes that allow navigation between the two floors. However, some holes of the upper floor are one way, and thus taking the wrong hole can result in having to walk back part of the maze.
The correct path to reach Flannery is the following, using the holes identified by letters on the walkthrough pictures:
B > F > G > H > I > K > M > P
Upon defeating Flannery, the gym-greeter will start selling TM100 (Overheat) for the price of
7,000, or for the reduced price of
28,000 for 5 of them.
Furthermore, after leaving the gym, May will be blocking the exit and will hand out a pair of Go-Goggles, allowing the player to enter Route 111 Desert. She will also inform that Petalburg City's gym can now be challenged.

Flannery
Flannery is the Fire type gym Leader of Hoenn. Her first three Pokémons are all very slow Pokémons with increasing durability, but any Water type move, particularly Special ones such as Surf, will easily sweep through them. The real challenge is with her new addition, Chandelure, which boasts both Speed and Offense, while no Pokémon obtainable up to that point can resist its offensive moves. If any Water type Pokémon can resist one of its Shadow Ball, it should be able to take the Chandelure in one hit, otherwise setting up against previous pokemons is likely the best bet.
