Lavender Town

Route 10 is a mountainous Kanto route that is perpendicularly interlocated between Route 9 and Lavender Town, serving as a junctional route therebetween.

It is a bisegmental route that is bisected by the Rock Tunnel, which must be traveled through in order to reach the southern terminus of the area en route to Lavender Town. Since the Rock Tunnel is lightless, HM05 (Flash) and a Pokémon toting that move is needed for the area to be illuminable.

Until a Pokéflute is obtained via its rewardful quest to rouse the roadblocking Snorlax on Route 12, Route 10 is one of the impassable destinations that one needs to travel to in a roundabout itinerary to reach Celadon City for the first time and ultimately obtain the Rainbow Badge—the fourth badge in Kanto's successional line of Gyms.

The route's waterway can be surfed in order to reach the Power Plant on the expanse of land amiddle.

Notable miscellanies

Route 10 Pokémon Center

Main article: Pokémon Centers

A Pokémon Center is stationed nearby the Rock Tunnel's entrway, thereby proffering an expeditious means of healing one's Pokémon; this is resourceful when contextualizing the likelihood that they will be depleted when battling the wild Pokémon and gauntlet of NPC trainers within the cave.

Alternatively, a standalone Nurse Joy healer on the southernmost first-floor segment in the Rock Tunnel can be used to heal your Pokémon, providing a potentially more proximate restoratory source than the Pokémon Center depending on your whereabouts in the cave.

Rock Tunnel digway

Main article: Digways

With a Dig-toting Pokémon with at least 150 happiness points on-hand, the digway can be used to bypass the oft-tortuous walk in the Rock Tunnel. As is the stipulator with all digways, the outlet on the southern segment of the route must be interacted with before this tunnel is passable; this entails the on-foot pathway through Rock Tunnel for at least your initial visit.

Yorki's Brother

Main article: Intraregional-subway quest

This route is one of the five locational eventualities of the destination of Yorkie's brother in the intraregional-subway quest, as he can be found loitering outside of the Power Plant.
