Pokémon

Water is the most numerous type that is characterizable among Pokémon; correlatively, they are the most ubiquitous among Pokémon-trainers and the wild.

Their inhabitance is hydrocentric, meaning that they are predominantly huntable in the water through fishing and surfing; however, a sparser amount of them are also amphibians, allowing them to be captured both in the water and on land as a potential alternative in case one lacks either of the hunting devices needed to encounter them in the water.
