Cooldown time12 days
Dates active2016—present
Basic requirements
  • 150-plus playtime hours
  • An on-hand lineup of invariably level-100 Pokémon

"I spent my time treasure-hunting and had a bolstered-up lineup, resultantly... Want to see what I found?"

—Brock

Brock is the boss-NPC incarnation of Brock—the Gym Leader of Pewter City.

As a nod to his Rock-type specialism, he is a distributory source of Pokémon Fossils and reanimated Pokémon thereof.

Challenging Brock

Brock can be found on the overpassing cliffside on the basement floor of Diglett's Cave. The staircase that is perpendicularly interposed between both allotments of Diggable Patches in this cave can be used to reach the cliffside to access Brock.

Interacting with him will automatically initiate a battle contingent that you have satisfied the 150-hour requirement for your playtime and if you have an invariably level-100 lineup on-hand. If you have previously battled him, it will be a 12-day cooldown time to rechallenge him.

  • Emboldened moves avail from a STAB bonus when deployed by that Pokémon.
  • Italicized moves are functionally broken; see their individualized pages for more information.

Rewards

Brock is rewardful of various diggable items, including top-tier eventualities in Pokémon Fossils and a bevy of sellable junk items—the allusive treasure that he is hunting for, which was seminal to the construction of his team that partly comprises fossilized Pokémon. He will reward you an item from his initial subset, and then he will successively give you another item from the secondary subset; both are tabularly noted below.

Upon defeating him three-consecutive times, you will be proffered selectable prizes in addition to the rewards you obtained from the two randomized subsets prior; this comprises five animate versions of fossilized Pokémon, as noted below. The shiny chance of each them is 1/4,096, and all will be initialized at level 10.
