Rock Tunnel is a cave that is encompassed by Route 10 in Kanto.

Due to this cave's lightless obscurity, HM05 and a Flash-toting Pokémon will be needed to illuminate the cave in order for it to be visibly nagivable.

It paves the only on-foot pathway needed to transsegmentally travel through the route en route to the southernly contiguous Lavender Town; as such, the area must initially be compulsorily passed through on a circuitous itinerary to Celadon City for the Rainbow Badge—the fourth badge in Kanto's successional line of gyms.

If you have a Dig-wielding Pokémon with 150-plus happiness points on-hand, the cave is bypassable through the digways burrowed outside of the cave; however, you must interact with the digway outlet on the southern exterior segment before the digway is passable, thereby necessitating that you walk through the cave at least once.

Notable miscellanies

Pokémon-healer

A standalone Nurse Joy healer exists nearby the southern exit on 1F (Rock Tunnel 1), and she will costlessly heal your entire lineup; this denecessitates retreading to the exterior Pokémon Center on Route 10 in order to heal if you have deepened your travel in the cave enough to be within close proximity of this NPC.

Rock Slide-tutor

On B1F (Rock Tunnel 2), a nameless NPC will offer their tutorship for the Rock Slide technique to any tutorable Pokémon. It will cost 5,000 per tutee.
