Unknown Place is a special Kanto area in the Trainers Valley region. It is located on the north side of Pitch Black Cave. The place is home to Nikola, a special boss that allows the player a second chance at capturing Legendary Pokémon that were not captured during their quests.

Note that despite the presence of legendary field Pokémon such as Arceus and Kyogre, talking to them does not register their seen data into the Pokédex.
