Oldale Town

Route 103 is a Hoenn route linking Oldale Town to Route 110. The route is however split into two portions by a river, as such it cannot be crossed without the use of Surf.

The west part of Route 103 has the wild Pokémons as well as May, a story-mandatory NPC who becomes the first Trainer Battle of the region. The east side has all the trainers of the route. However easily overlooked is the Glacial Site in the north of the river, which becomes the main attraction of the route after Excavation has been unlocked.

Notable Miscellanies

May

The first time visiting Route 103 will be from the west side, with the objective of looking for May. She is the first Rival trainer of PRO that originates from the original games, and just like in the games, she will fight the player with the Starter Pokémon whose type is effective against the Starter Pokémon the player has chosen. Since they know their STAB move, it is recommended to capture a second Pokémon and train it before facing her. Wingull, found in the same route, is an excellent choice for all three choices as it knows Water Gun against Torchic, learns Wing Attack at level 8 against Treecko, and resists Mudkip's Water Gun too.

After her battle, she will leave the route, and the player will now be able to proceed to Route 102.

Glacial Site

One of the Excavation sites is located here. As with all Excavation sites, it will cost 2,500 to enter.
