"Whats the MYSTERYYYY?!?!? I know: let's have a battle!"

—Shary

"REEEEEEE! I'm trying to make tacos over here. But I guess I'll battle you."

—Shaui

Shary & Shaui comprise a boss-NPC tandem residing in Love Island.

They currently occupy the Love Island-couple boss-NPC mantle, being the residential successors of 9oomy & Gouseru and Sgath & Keres. Shary and Shaui must be battled sequentially in order to reap their prizesets, with both characters deploying their own discrete Pokémon lineups.

Boss rework 2019

Shary & Shaui duo was part of the Boss rework in 2019 and was updated at the 24th January 2019. The boss rework was issued and is still ongoing to improve the boss NPC's in general. All reworked bosses are coded in Python and not in Xanascript anymore, which gives new opportunities. Reworked bosses can now have held items as well. One of the biggest benefits is, that the Python script sees when if the server crashed in order to not count a lose in case the player fought against the boss while the server crashed. In such a case the player can simply re-figth the boss.

The boss rework implies a challenge for players on any experience level who do enjoy doing bosses because of the three difficulty level every not story related boss has, which ensures that bosses are challengable for newer players and also be a chellange for those who have a high Pokémon knowledge. Boss teams are decisively reworked and only contain level 100 Pokémon. EVs and hold items do vary among other things - also depending on the difficulty level.

  • Easy: bosses have no EVs and no hold items; as well as a weakened moveset. Consecutive win rewards are also not available.
  • Medium: bosses have 252 EVs in each stat and hold items.
  • Hard: bosses have 400 EVs in each stat and hold items. Furthermore, the player is not allowed to use in-battle items such as Revives.

Challenging Shary & Shaui

The duo can be in their abode on Love Island (entitled House 1); this area will be accessibilized upon registering 120 Generation I caught-data 38 evolved-data entries on your Pokédex.

The tandem starts with Shary, who you must challenge first contingent that your lineup is devoid of any Ice- and Fairy-type Pokémon, whom she antipathizes. Thereupon defeating Shary, you can proceedingly challenge Shaui, who will reward your prizeset if you defeat her.

If you lose to either member of the duet, the 12-day-cooldown time will initiate. Only winning against Shaui will initiate the cooldown time; therefore, if you win against Shary but have yet to challenge Shaui, the cooldown time will be timeless and will only be initiable upon battling the latter.

There is no shiny counterpart of Pokémon rewarded from the randomized prizeset; only the selectable prizes have one, which is 1/4,096 in fractional notation (0.0244%, in percental notation).
