Cherrygrove City is the beginner Johto city, located between Route 29 and Route 30. Although there isn't anything particular to do in Cherrygrove city, it is the first location of the region with a Pokémon Center and a Pokémart, making it the place to stock on beginner items as well as the first location where the player can trade Pokémons captured in Johto.

Guide Bob

The Johto region marks the first appearance of Guide Bob, who will be waiting in front of the Pokémon Center. At the start of each new region, Guide Bob will want to present to the player his ultimate-extreme-new-player-guide. But as he realizes that the player is already the champion of a region, he will spare the player from his tutorial and give the player a starter pack of items: 5 Pokéballs, 5 Potions and 10,000, usefull in case the player started the Johto region empty-pocketed.
