Move tutors, oftentimes colloquially shortened to tutors, are NPCs that impart move techniques to compatibly learnable Pokémon tutees. They purvey another medium of move-learning to teach Pokémon moves that they might not learn regularly by other avenues or to help them relearn or expedite the acquisition of moves in their organic move pool.
Since move-tutors are locationally diverse throughout the game, one will need access to the area that they are stationed in, Pokémoney coverage for their monetary costs, and sometimes antecedent requirements, such as quests, in order to have access to their tutorship.

Move buffets
Also referred to more colloquially as move-relearners, move buffets will teach any move within the Pokémon's level-up and instinctual move pool that it satisfied the level requirement for; this means that the Pokémon must have already reached the level threshold that is designated for the move if it is to be relearnable. This is the principal means of restoring lost or forgotten moves.
Pre-evolution's moves will not fall within the purview of the move buffets; for example, Arcanine can not inherit Growlithe's moves in its pool of relearnable moves, meaning that lost of Growlithe's moves would need to be learned in that stage and retained by Arcanine in order to possess them. This limitation affects most stone-evolved Pokémon, meaning that it is a wise to acquire all the moves one may desire in that pre-evolution stage before they elect to evolve the Pokémon.
Move buffets will charge 2,000 per transaction, and two are stationed per region. They are available in all the areas outline hereunder:
- Kanto - Cerulean City; Saffron City
- Johto - Goldenrod City; Blackthorn City
- Hoenn - Slateport City marketplace; Sootopolis City
Egg-inheritable moves
- Main article: Egg-Inheritable Moves
As an implementary substitute for the egg-moves mechanics in the handheld games that entailed Pokémon-breeding, which is not featured in PRO, a move-tutor exists that amalgamates all egg-inherited moves in the handheld games. These move-tutors are stationed in every daycare center; access to them entails defeating Naero's eponymous boss NPC.
No interparental combinations are needed in order for the Pokémon to learn the Egg Move; the Pokémon will unrestrictedly have access to every Egg Move it would have in the handheld games, and an identical move pool will carry over to its evolutions if they are used as the tutees. It will cost 15,000 per transaction.
