Torrent is one of the many abilities that are inheritable by Pokémon.
Only a select bevy of Water-type Pokémon can inherit this ability; that includes all Water-type starter Pokémon.
Function
It boosts the attack-power damage output of Water-type moves when deployed by the possessor in battle.
Due to various commonalities that exist between this ability and Overgrow and Blaze, it is considered the Water-type equivalent of them; those commonalities include: the facts that all starter-Pokémon selectables of one of the traditional starter-Pokémon types can inherit it, only Pokémon of the referential type can inherit it, and it boosts the attack power of those types by 50%.
