It can be accessed by talking to Sailor Dionisis in various ports, namely Vermilion City, Olivine City, Slateport City and Canalave City. This brings the player to Vulcan Island Shore. Main Activities
Trainers
Vulcan Island is home to almost 100 trainers, all of which have Pokemons ranging between level 60 and 90. This makes it an excellent area for training Pokemons in their last 20 levels, as well as an easy and fun way to quickly earn money.
Vulcan Quest
Starting in Vulcanic Town, the Vulcan Quest is separated into two parts. The first part branches into two path: helping Team Aqua or helping Team Magma. The rewards vary depending on which team was helped, however it is possible to reset the quest in order to fetch the rewards from the other side.
The second part of Vulcan Quest will send the player to Vulcan Cave, where the player will get to fight Manaphy. It however cannot be caught.
Summer Points
There are three sources of Summer Points:
- Completion of the second part of Vulcan Quest.
- Submitting Chimchar and Piplup to Challenger Rick at Vulcanic Town.
- Defeating the few bosses on the island.
These points can be redeemed for a large variety of hats and clothes at Vulcanic Town. They can also be redeemed at Slateport City, although the NPC there does not offer clothes.
