Route 40 is a Johto sea route, located between Olivine City and Route 41. It will be the first location of Johto's story where it is necessary to bringOn its north is located the Battle Road, although it is blocked as the location hasn't been created yet.

Specially for this route, wild can be encountered while walking on the beach. No pokemon will appear when walking on the small sandy island though.
