Union Cave is a Johto cave that interconnects Route 32 and Route 33. The side path on the north side of the cave reaches to two different exits of Ruins of Alph, most particularly one of which must be traversed in order to reach the grass in which Smeargle appears, as well as its dedicated Move Tutor. These two paths require Surf to traverse.

The Union Cave is also known for the Lapras in the southern side path, which also requires Surf to reach. However, unlike in the original games, this Lapras does not appear only on a certain day, and is instead made a rare encounter.

Notable miscellanies

Ominous Wind Tutor

A Move tutor for the move Ominous Wind can be found in the far west of the 1st floor from Route 32's entrance. He will teach the move to any compatible pokemon for 3,000.

Abandoned Pokémon

An Abandoned Pokémon can be found in the north-east corner of Union Cave B2F, which will require Surf to be able to reach. Picking the blue pokeball will provide the player with a level 15 Weedle.
